Energize Me!

Remember that Exercise Will Energize

Even though you might feel too tired to exercise, do it anyway. You might be surprised to find how energized you feel while you’re at it and afterwards, when you’re finished. Exercise is a great stress-reliever too and if you know anything about stress, you know that it is one of the body’s biggest energy-sappers.

Some days, the hardest part of the exercise is just showing up to do it.  It is your choice completely, and only you can decide to exercise or not.  I guarantee that if you choose exercise, even if you run through every excuse in the book, you will absolutely feel better about yourself, your day, and your overall well being and ability to handle whatever comes your way.  When you choose to exercise on a day that is crazy busy or you are crazy tired, be sure to take a minute and take pride in your choice.  Remember that feeling for the next time you start running through the excuses.

Also remember that some exercise is better than no exercise.

Work SMARTER not HARDER

30 07 2009

So after training with one of the best trainers in the state who has been in the business for over 20 years, I have learned quite a lot.    I thought I knew a lot about exercise, muscle growth, and nutrition before I started training for my bodybuilding competition.  However,  in a short period of time, I realized how much I was doing incorrectly.  But… now I know.

I have recently started working out in the early morning again.  It has been about 3 years since I have been in the gym so early, and I was happy to see so many familiar faces from a few years  back.   One thing I have noticed, though, is that everyone pretty much looks the exact same.  This is great news for those trying to maintain their current weight and fitness level.  I wonder how many of those people are really wanting to improve their appearance, muscle mass, endurance, etc.?

When you see the same people everyday, you notice little quirks, habits, or routines that they follow.  Most of these familiar faces are still doing the same things from 3 years ago.  Many are doing exercises so completely wrong, that I have no idea what muscle group they are trying to work.  I want to save them from their life of reaching the dreaded plateau at the gym caused mainly by working harder, not smarter.

So my motto is WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER.  I know how to do that.  Make every rep count, make every minute of every exercise have a positive impact. Have questions? Please contact me at musclemommy@live.com.

Let’s Go!

So, this is a blog. I am excited to have my own blog, seeing as how I didn’t even know what a blog was until recently. Thanks to my friend Gigi, and encouragement from my husband, I decided to give it a go. I want this blog to be a way to record and comment on  my own fitness goals, as well as answer questions and give advice to others about diet, nutrition, and fitness. I have a passion for fitness and nutrition, and it is easy to incorporate into your life if you do it the right way – the way that fits your lifestyle, likes, dislikes, time constraints etc. Each person is different so each fitness plan is different, and that leads to success in slimming down, getting fit, fitting into that new bikini for your summer vacation, looking good for your 20 year class reunion… whatever your goal.
